What's Meetup?

Introduction
Independent films are never "run of the mill" and neither are the people who are interested in viewing them.
What are some of your favorite Films, and who are a few of your favorite Directors?

Films: Like Water for Chocolate, Water, Persepolis, Away from Her, Death at a Funeral, The Kite Runner, The Waitress, and every Merchant Ivory film. Directors: The Cassavettes Family, Adrienne Shelly, Frank Oz, Deepa Mehta, Bergman, and others whose films I've enjoyed but, sad to say, I can't remember the director's name.

When the best day and time to meet for a film outing at the JBFC?

7:30 p.m.

What is your favorite type of film to see at the JBFC: documentary, independent, foreign, classic?

Independent and foreign, but add "any" to that list. I even enjoyed the film about the preparation and journey to the moon - and I can't even recall the name of that documentary nor it's director.

  •  How gracious of you! I'm anxious to meet the group. I wouldn't begin to know how to get to Pleasantville by train, I think car is the only answer. It seems further than it is because it can be hard to find one's way down into Pleasantville. When I was a we, we were members for a number of years.

    Looking forward to meeting you.
