Mamma Mia! is a film adaptation of the West End musical of the same name based on the songs of successful pop group ABBA.

The title of the film comes from the group's 1975 chart-topper "Mamma Mia". It was produced by Universal Pictures in partnership with Playtone and Littlestar.[2] It will be released on July 10, 2008 in the United Kingdom, July 3, 2008 in Greece[3], July 11, 2008 in Sweden[3], and July 18, 2008 in the United States.[4]

Oscar winner Meryl Streep heads the cast of the film, playing the role of single mother Donna Sheridan. Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård play the three potential fathers to Donna's daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried).

Plot

Mamma Mia! uses the music of ABBA to tell the story of Sophie Sheridan (Amanda Seyfried), a 21-year-old American girl who's ready to marry her fiancé Sky (Dominic Cooper), but wants to learn the identity of her father so he can give her away at the wedding. Reading her mother Donna's (Meryl Streep) diary, she brings three men, Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), an American architect; Harry Bright (Colin Firth), a British banker; and Bill Anderson (Stellan Skarsgård), a Swedish novelist, to the Greek island they visited over two decades ago.

This was a cute and funny film. I couldn't get the songs out of my head.
