They welcome all pirates, so come ashore dressed in your best pirantical pirattitude and enjoy a weekend of fun.
This year's event Gathering site will move from the Fountain of Youth this year to be more accessible to the general public. There will only be period correct camping available at the Pirate Gathering and there will be two encampments one in the Spanish Quarter for authentic camping and the main location at Francis Field...just west of the city parking facility. Thanks you for your comments, we hear you and will be improving on it next year. Get the word out to better vendors and we would love to have them join in.

I was expecting more sutlers and less "vendors" but can't complain. I was disappointed in the lack of a schedule located posted at the event. If there was one, I didn't see it. That being said, the Pirate Battle and Buccaneer's Bash on Saturday and Saturday night were both a lot of fun. I enjoyed the band, Rusty Cutlass, & they seemed responsive to our impromptu Virginia Reel and Polkas. They lengthened one song so we could Reel with all couples, so kudos. I plan on returning next year.

    •  Had a blast! Great event!
    •  The Saint Augustine Pirate Gathering was a great success, merriment was had by all. The weather was beautiful. I would like to thank all the Atlanta Pirates and Wenches for joining in the festivities. They bring a great flare and always enjoy their company. The Buccaneer Bash was even better, just ask Furgess…oh yeah he might not remember, he go into the rhum and apple pie. I hope more will come next year and be a part of the Saint Augustine Pirate Gathering 2010.
    •  Nice venue. St. Francis' Field was a good place to hold this event. Small encampment, but it's only the 2d year. Me and me Buxom Wench completely enjoyed ourselves. We even got asked if we were part of a krewe. We shall return without a doubt. Paul Aka Pirate Diver

This is the events second year. I think some things got out of control and it lacked organization in some areas, but nothing that wasn't remedied by asking for help. A lot of folks were nice, but there were some real attitudes out there as well. Highlights were the Pirate Battle and Buccaneer's Bash, which was outstanding. Great music, but I hope they have more dancing room next year, because we do love to dance! These comments are meant as constructive, as I know all too well that planning and executing an event is TOUGH. So, huzzuh to the organizers. All said and done, I'm going to do my best to get back down for next year's gathering.
