The Gathering (1:30pm - 2:30pm)
This year we’ll slip in, by ones and by twos, to this beer-soaked din of parlour games, this gin-stained shrine to American folklore, where we’ll plot and plan our attack on the unsuspecting city of Decatarrrr.

Legge the Firste (2:30pm - 2:45pm)
We depart Mr. Twain’s riverboat and take to the streets of Decatarrrr to let the townsfolk know that we are come to drink their ale! We strike quickly, hot and fast! Streaking across the soft eastern underbelly of this parochial town we stroll down the high street and around the corner toward the legendary Belgium Bar, secreted in the attic of the Brick Store. As if we couldn’t figure out where they’d hidden it….

The Brick Store (2:45pm - 4:00pm)
Once we arrive here at the Brick Store we’ll threaten their crew with gold and paper and plastic cards full of numbers, in exchange for high gravity Belgian beers and tasty delectables from their kitchen. Tip your servers well, but make sure they know how close they came to danger this day by growling at them!! (restrooms under the stairs toward the kitchen)

Legge the Seconde (4:00pm - 4:05pm)
Once we’ve taken the Brick Store and secured all her tasty kegs of European beer we’ll shuffle over to the scenic Stephen Decatarrrr plaza.

Stephen Decatur Plaza (4:05pm - 4:30pm)
We’ll gather here at the bust of Commodore Stephen Decatur to celebrate the taking of this inland port, dedicated to this ferocious enemy of pirates everywhere. We’ll perambulate up and down like cocks of the walk, to drive home the point that Decatarrrr has fallen well and truly under our power… and to also allow the townsfolk to have their photos taken with us, if they be daring enough. To all you pirates what be from Virginia, this might be a reeely, reeely good place to be around this time, if you catch our drift…. be sure to talk to people in your pirate network for details!!

TENTATIVE!! - Legge the Thirde (4:30pm - 4:35pm)
We escape the pirate-hating ghost of Commodore Stephen Decatur and take to the streets again, this time looking for a port to take us in to let us lick our wounds… and perhaps some limes… surrounded by a copious amount of Tequila….

TENTATIVE!! - Eddie’s Attic (4:35pm - 6:00pm)
After our celebration in the square, any pirate worth his salt will be on the lookout for more rum and ale and pirate grog, so up the stairs to Mister Eddie’s Attic we’ll climb, to slake our thirst… and to listen to songs by Tenpenny Traveler as we consider the last, and longest, leg of our journey…. the route to that pirate conclave known as PiratePalooza™!!!

Legge the Fourth (6:00pm - 6:15pm)
Now, take to your longboats and row hard for Avondale Estates!! We’ll meet you at the James Joyce Irish Pub!!

5th Annual PiratePalooza™ Pub Sing (6:30pm - 10pm)
his be it… the culmination of our raid on Decatarrrr… the place where we divvy our loot and sing of our adventures along with:

The Brigadoon Bombshells
Tenpenny Traveler
Joni Minstrel
The Lost Boys
Syrens of the South
Three Quarter Ale
Wine Woman & Song

The James Joyce Irish Pub has a spectacular menu and a crew of friendly cabin boys and girls to make sure your jar is never empty, and your belly always full.

.On Saturday 8/8/09, the band Paradocs will be doing a fundraising performance for the Georgia Chapter of the National MS Society at Cowboys in Kennesaw. My work persona, Dr. Ben Thrower, was asked to perform on stage with the band. Due to a complete and total lack of any musical talent, Dr. Thrower will be unavailable, but Captain Jack Sparrow, I mean Jacques Moineau will fill in for him. Pirates in garb in the audience would be greatly appreciated. We may take a few upper crust types hostage and ransom them off for the cause. There will be a $10 cover at the door. The band is known for Southern Rock, top 40 stuff, and is learning Margaritaville just for the evening.

Cost: $10.00

UPDATE: The carnival runs from 4 pm to 10 pm. We are not meeting at the gate until 7 pm to (?) at 8pm. Mostly we should be mixing with the crowd dancing, getting them excited, being Pirates of course etc. See BO for more info when you arrive.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------E-mail BO now for more info

We have been challenged to amass a boarding party and invade the A1A concert being held at Johns Creek for the benefit "Days of Summer"! on Friday July 31. Load the cannon Prime the pans mates as Jeff Pike of A1A has parlayed that we can be entering the premises for free! We always like free! Of course the catch is that we be be in our best Garb, Captain's coats for the mates and the wenches....well you wenches always look fine! The ship's navigator will be flying the flag so look over the horizon and tack into the wind to arrive on time, loaded for battle.

Best be headed to the ship early ons and plan to be on your best Piratical behavior as this is a trail run for Future events. Ye can harass the common folk and maybe steal their rum, but try not to scare the young ones nor pilfer too much from the rich as the governor frowns upon unruly louts. This could be a good time to tryout that squeaking ye call singing as practice for next weekend following at Cowboys (see calender). If ye be a shy lass just stand around and look pretty, but if ya aims to catch the lady's eye lads ye best be stepping forward and speaking up! Alas I be stranded on a distant shore with a low tide fer this event... but Cap't Mayonnaise....errr that be Moineu has pledged his leadership along with the portrait maker BO, the sawwench Polky and the navigator Georgia Belle! So look fer the scruvey lot of em milling around the gates to gain entry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Now if in ye be having questions about this here happening click on the link below. If that doesn't satisfy yer craving fer knowledge give a shout out to BO and she can fill yer ear!

The invasion of Dunwoody took quite a toll on our ship, being French built and all she need repairs before our next attack. Just as in the olden days we needs to Careen and scape the hull. Those of you who missed out on the fun, or those who want to return we be meet at the secret location again to pound some nails swap the deck and splice the main lines. For those of you having a weekend job or other venues, Call me write me fire across me bow & I will meet during the week day or evening so you can push a broom, stack lumber weave a knot or go fishing for nails. PLEASE this is not a kid friendly environment. We act like sailors and we talk like drunken fish err....is that another tale...well anyways there are lots of sharp pointy things and no toys. We all like children, there tasty bar=B=Que, but leave the half pints with grampus and bring yer tools. We ran out of time before we installed the handrail, the main sail, additional platforms and the on board ale cooler. We have lot's more materials on the way, or being plundered. If ye want to help, but have no time, we accept plastic, doubloons or grub. We be a starvin crew and a morsel goes a long way. Look in your shed, under ye crawlspace, or in the attic. Do you have old furniture that be rotting away, chairs legs, 2 x 4's plywood, nails, screws, old drop cords canvas sheeting, paint (oil based) stain or broken handle off a shovel? We be setting up a lathe and making belaying pins soon so we needs practice materials and fodder to sawdust, eh? Well you know what we means!

Limited to 10 crew plus the carpenters unless you ask nicely and buy me a drink. Those that don't work walk, unless you donated grub, gold, garb or glitter? Seriously we need some workers to tidy up too. The old shop sits covered in sawdust and lumber scattered everywhere.

Must have her ready to perform, err, set sail by August 1st!

Delightfully,
Quartermaster
