Are you up for two days of piracy !]

The Renaissance Festival is a 16th century European style art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus entertainment, arts and crafts marketplace, a jousting tournament, a feast fit for royalty, and much much more. The 16th annual season opens this fall for seven festive weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, from October 10th to November 22nd.

The Carolina Renaissance Festival was introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions and entertainment. The event has grown into a twenty acre theme park filled with charming cottages and castles, kitchens and pubs, and a most unusual collection of people powered rides and games of skill.

The Carolina event has grown to be one of the largest of the Renaissance fairs nationwide. Tree lined lanes are filled with over 100 purveyors of crafts and food, and non-stop music and comedy shows are presented on 10 stages every event day.

This is one of the most interactive entertainment shows ever created with wonderful amusements and antics ongoing all around you! You can sit back and watch, or you can become a part of the action, surrounded by over 500 costumed characters roaming the festival village. The village lanes are full of peasants singing sea-faring songs and street entertainers surprising you with tall tales and tricks, each with a role to play.

You can experience the clashing of armor and the thundering of hooves daily with full combat jousts at the King's Tournament Arena.

As its a 4hr drive getting a hotel would be advisable and pack some warm Garb as it can get cold.

After a night of Frolic and merriment in the northern port of Cartersville.................................The next morning we need your help.

The stormy seas and foul weather have taken a toll on our ship. A rouge way knocked the top rail clear off the Larboard side, a dead eye tore loose during a Gail, and her rudder looks like a udder! Poor old Jacques lost his head during the mast lowering ceremony at the James Joyce and the ship needs a lot of TLC to be seaworthy for the next event. We have a lot of appearances coming up and Sadly we will not be able to use the float in the little 5 parade due to lack of secure parking for her after the parade. This is the only open weekend available before a surprise appearance (still in development) and she needs not only sprucing up a bit, but during static displays we could have a taller mast! Maybe we can have a true main sail during these displays if the riggers can sort out the details. So gather round crew and set course for the secret location. We have plenty to do for the ones of you who didn't have a chance to get your hands dirty last time. Skilled or just clumsy, we welcome all pirates and wenches (NO KIDS PLEASE unless they can tote timbers or cook) From sweeping to sorting the materials we already have on hand.......... just too much for a tired old tar to manage and manhandle by me self. If ya don't do anything but lead us in a song, it will lift the spirits and make the load seems lighter! We may need some more rope so look around your hold, or steal from your neighbors garage or shed and see if you have some sisal or hemp rope just rotting away. boards, nails, screws, rats, parrots or FLAGS! The hand rail still sits in a pile , just waiting for A crew to size and fit. We need a place to install Belaying Pins and the handrail has to be installed first. Any materials you can bring, then bring them on or write me to swing by with a truck if too large fer yer skiff; we can store till needed. The future will bring a higher deck so the land luvers can see our sharp steel, fierce scowl and the lady's bounteous over flowing.....err pretty ruffles better. All of you know or should know by now we still have another 1/2 of a ship to build as soon as we commandeer a bigger or second trailer! I will try and have something for everyone to do and those of you with deep pockets............well you know what to do.

See you at the secret location.

Respectfully,

Quartermaster Ferguss Hardwood
