Okay, Fandango finally published the showtimes. We'll meet about 1:30-1:45 in the lobby of the City North 14 Theatre. There's $2 parking and it's a wonderful theatre with lots of nice cushy seats. You may want to buy tickets ahead, this will be a popular film.

THIS IS NOT A CHICK FLICK GUYS! This is an uplifting, life-affirming, thought provoking experience. Feel free to get up and dance in the aisles.

Afterward, we'll find a restaurant and talk about the film. Last time we went across to Burger King and had a great time, so anything is fair game.

Can't wait! Call me on my cell, [masked], if you need to. Cheers - RS

P.S. LOOK FOR ME SITTING ON OR STANDING NEAR THE BENCH IN FRONT OF THE TICKET TAKER!

Thanks to the eight terrific cinephiles who were able to make it to Mamma Mia! today. Afterward Kashush, Annette and I went to Fat Willy's for BBQ. Not bad! I hope everyone enjoyed the film, I adored it. Hope to see you next week for Step Brothers.

Who attended?

    •  I missed the group (train did not stop at Diversey and I ended up walking Fullerton to Western since I also missed the bus), and tried to meet up at BK but didn't see anyone there. BUT -- I enjoyed the movie more than I thought I would and I probably would not have seen it if it had not been a meetup, even as a Pierce and Colin fan.
    •  Mamma Mia! is a wonderful film about ordinary people who become special. The cinematography was magical and I have to disagree with the critics on this one.
    •  The play of course was more fun but I enjoyed the movie. Definitely more of a girly film.
    •  I agree with Annette, the play was much better. I think the key to the play was top notch singing talent, and a fondness for ABBA songs. The plot is so thin, real acting talent is not really required, a real waste of Meryl Streep's gift. It was more than a bit painful watching Pierce Brosnan 'sing'. The cinematography was well done.
