I saw this in the cinema, and of course it won the Best Picture and Best Director Oscars, and is on Film Four at the moment. Its a re-make of the Hong Kong movie 'Infernal Affairs', and I was a bit underwhelmed by it winning the main Oscars because of the fact it was a remake, hence not an original storyline. Its on FilmFour at the moment, I have to say it is terrific, I am particularly enjoying the acting of Leonardo di Caprio, he is absolutely superb in this. I think it may well have deserved its awards after all. Anyone else seen it?

This was my take on it.

I watched it a while back but was v. disappointed. Much preferred the original Infernal Affairs. Jack was Jack. I don't really like Damon. Leonardo was good of course. Plot changes - typical Hollywood plus had to have a love triangle. With the original at least Leonardo chr. looked like he was involved with the baddies like Donny Brasco.

The rat at the end! Jack was doing black comedy and so was the rat but the others were doing it serious.

Have to agree that the original Infernal Affairs was much better. The Departed had no sense of subtlety, right down to the shot of the rat at the end
